Supporting College Football’s Biggest Stories

How Miami, BYU, UCLA and Kentucky are building on football momentum to deepen fan engagement.

Miami, BYU, UCLA and Kentucky are writing some of college football’s most compelling stories this season. Historic rankings, undefeated starts and statement wins have given fans plenty to celebrate, and plenty of reasons to keep coming back.

Official websites and apps keep fans close to it all, from planning for gameday to following the players behind each performance. As WMT partners, these schools have built digital experiences designed to grow with their programs. This season, they’re putting that flexibility to work, making their official channels an essential part of following the team.

Miami: A longstanding partnership, a new milestone

Miami’s return to No. 1 in the AP poll for the first time since 2002 marks an exciting chapter for the Hurricanes and WMT’s very first partner.

Since 2012, the partnership has grown from SEO and content strategy into a connected website and app experience. That foundation supported uninterrupted access during one of the partnership’s highest-traffic days at last season’s National Championship.

This year’s refreshed platforms give Miami more flexibility to shape the experience around gameday. A takeover page uses timed content blocks to put game information and ticket promotions in front of fans when they’re most relevant.

In the app, fans can toggle into “Gameday Mode” for an experience tailored to home or away matchups. A home gameday timeline helps fans plan their visit, while live stats and ticket information keep them connected on the road.

BYU: Bringing the season’s biggest moments closer

BYU’s 28–24 win over Notre Dame lifted the Cougars to No. 2 in the AP poll, their highest ranking since the 1984 national championship season. For fans, it was another performance worth revisiting.

Since 2023, BYU’s partnership with WMT has grown to include its website, app, FanID, Fan Intelligence, and Fan Intelligence Services. This season, video is helping bring that connected experience to life.

Through its WSC integration, BYU makes highlights part of how fans explore its website and app. On the website, video appears across the homepage, schedule pages and player profiles, placing the action alongside the information fans are already seeking.

On player profiles, fans can move from reading about an athlete to watching their key moments. That connection brings individual contributions into focus, giving players more visibility and fans a richer understanding of the team behind the season.

"Our mantra is ‘Win when the world is watching,’ and that extends beyond the field. Success in competition brings more eyes to BYU, and we need to make the most of that attention. Our partnership with WMT helps us do that through our website and app, turning big moments into opportunities for fans to connect with the team and stay engaged long after game day.”

UCLA: A new digital home for an undefeated start

UCLA’s victory over Wisconsin moved the Bruins to 6–0 for the first time since 2022, making them the Big Ten’s only undefeated team. The run coincides with UCLA’s first season with a WMT-powered website and mobile app.

The launch gave Bruins fans a faster, more personalized way to follow their favorite sports and stay connected year-round. Team news, tickets and exclusive content come together in a unified experience that carries into gameday.

Fans opening the app can turn to Gameday Mode for information to help them prepare for kickoff and follow the matchup. Live audio lets fans listen to the action wherever they are, while CUE Audio brings fans in the stands into synchronized light shows directly through the Bruins app. On the website, live Bruin audio sits alongside gameday coverage on the homepage through WMT’s integration with StatBroadcast.

Whether heading to the stadium or listening from afar, fans have a direct way to follow the action through UCLA’s official channels.

Kentucky: Extending the excitement beyond gameday

Kentucky’s win at Oklahoma pushed the Wildcats to 6–1 and marked their third SEC road victory of the season. As momentum builds, the program’s website and app give fans a home for following every step.

A WMT partner since 2022, Kentucky brings team coverage, ticket access and gameday information together across web and mobile. Fans can prepare for their next stadium visit or follow from afar, staying connected throughout the week.

UKSN All Access adds video storytelling to that experience. Featured on the athletics homepage, its programming and curated playlists invite fans checking in on the Wildcats to explore more of the program. Sponsorship and paid access also create opportunities to turn that engagement into revenue, giving Kentucky another way to build on the attention surrounding its teams.

Turning momentum into lasting connection

Across these four programs, the approaches differ, but the goal is shared: make their own channels an essential part of being a fan. By adapting content and experiences to what fans need in the moment, each school gives its audience more reasons to return throughout the season.

Those ongoing connections create opportunities to turn interest into participation and support, helping the relationships built during a memorable season continue long after it ends.
