Georgia Tech Benefits from Remote Services

WMT’s remote Content Services team led a dramatic increase in mobile app engagement for the Yellow Jackets.

Extension of the Staff. The Content Services team is a hands-on resource that becomes an extension of the athletics department, with expertise in the WMT platforms as well as digital strategies that advance the department forward. The priority needs at Tech included:

  • Complete management of the mobile app
  • Provide support for sponsored digital assets
  • Assist website duties as needed

Mobile app engagement skyrocketed as a result of WMT’s collaboration with Tech’s staff.

  • Engaged app sessions were up 103%

How. The strategies were focused on delivering entertainment and utility to the mobile app home screen, through:

  • Live audio streaming
  • Weekly trivia
  • Merchandise and ticket promotion
  • Game day mode

Active Engagement. Push notification strategy was a key component of the increased engagement achieved through these efforts. Georgia Tech delivered nearly 4 million push notifications in 2023-24 after doubling the number of messages sent.

Jackets and Innovation. The Georgia Tech team was eager to be the first program to utilize WMT’s Mobile Page Builder product. The new tool provides complete flexibility to create a mobile page that can be utilized within the mobile app or on social media. The immersive experience allows for more creative sponsor activations as well as fan experience promotions.

Help Provided. If your program has digital staff vacancies or you simply want to level up your mobile app strategies, our Content Services team can help. Led by industry expert Fred Villaruel, who’s had previous stops with the Chicago White Sox and Notre Dame, the remote WMT team will get the most out of your digital platforms.
