The Kentucky Wildcats are the men's and women's intercollegiate athletic squads of the University of Kentucky (UK), a founding member of the Southeastern Conference. The Kentucky Wildcats is the student body of the University of Kentucky. 30,473 students attend the university.

Design & Development

The website and mobile app partnership were by-product of a collaborative project build with Kentucky Athletics and JMI Sports that continues to produce a one-of-a-kind results.

The desktop version of is a complete revisioning of the OAS navigation. The primary focus was on the most popular areas of the website, namely Sports sections and Schedules, as well as revenue drivers, like Tickets and Shop.

The Partnership

Kentucky & JMI Sports took a data informed approach to the launch of with WMT and in the process, broke the mold for navigation and content presentation on official athletics websites.

15% saw an immediate and continued spike in traffic of 15% due partly to the new UI.

As a college sports fan, it’s undeniable that getting up-to-the-minute updates at lightning speed is a priority. We designed the mobile experience so you can live like you’re in the stadium for every snap or right on the field with the players themselves.

Initial Results

Fans have responded to the innovative layout and UK Athletics is enjoyed increased traffic and engagement on their website and mobile app.

By promoting sports, schedules, tickets and shopping, and only these four areas, the new is driving fans to the most desired content faster and easier. By placing everything else in a separate menu, it creates a hyper focused (and data informed) user journey throughout the site.
