What Custom Really Looks Like

Why It Matters

From pencil sketch (pictured below) to live platform, Notre Dame leaned all the way into WMT’s custom engineering approach by asking our team to bring their pencil drawing to life.

The finished product was inspired by Twitch, a gaming video platform that is popular among recruits, and delivered a “wow” moment on National Signing Day.

WMT talks about custom work with all of our clients. No process better displays that approach than the pencil-sketch-to-National-Signing-Day website with the Fighting Irish.

Turning a rough drawing into a living microsite is the type of challenge that excites WMT. Upon launch, the landing page provided fans with an experience built for a Top 10 recruiting class.

  • The unique layout was filled with unique content.
  • Highlight videos were voiced over by the signees.
  • Bios looked more like a Spotify playlist than your traditional text bio.
  • Social handles and feeds were front and center.

Coach Freeman and his staff view these platforms as a celebration of the current class, but also as a way to open the eyes of the next recruiting class, meaning traffic is critically important to the success of the football program. As usual, traffic was exceptional for Notre Dame on this day. Sessions were up 30-plus percent and overall impressions nearly eclipsed 2021.
